My sister and her family came to visit over the Memorial Day weekend and I was excited to have my nieces at the studio to try out my new funky chair as well as some outdoor work!

This little guy was actually a big boy, weighing in at over nine pounds at birth. In truth, he was not thrilled about us interrupting his non-stop nurse-a-thon to take pictures at the studio, but if he keeps eating at this pace, I can't wait to see how chunky he's going to be at six months!

The Blanks Children

I love this time of year in Baltimore! Being from the south, I really savor these days of warm temperatures and low humidity. My toddler has discovered the joys of being outside (or "dice," as she inexplicably calls it!). And we just reworked our backyard, converting it from a very zen-like courtyard paved with flagstones to a more kid-friendly yard complete with "instant lawn," i.e. sod. We hated to see our Koi pond go, but any regret vanished when we let Miss Maren loose and watched her delight in being able to spin in circles barefoot on her new lawn, and now Graham has a great place to practice walking on his hands!

Payton was a funny kid...he loved his hands more than any newborn I have ever photographed. When he arrived at the studio, he was calmly taking in the scene, slurping on his hands and that's pretty much how he wanted things to be for the whole session. He finally relaxed and let me get some shots of his cute little face. Then, he fell asleep and let us play. Thank you little man! (By the way, I'm posting more than usual of this little guy...being friends with my husband has its perks!)

Leo visited my studio this week and was such a sweetie! He made the funniest noises, all these little grunts and sighs; he was such a "squeezy" boy -- I love it when I get a chunky newborn baby to play with!

Merric, day seven {newborn portrait session}

Being a photographer of newborn babies is such a privilege! I get to be there during those first few days when couples are transforming into families. It's such an honor and a thrill to see parents, like those of little Merric here, as they totally and completely fall in love with their new babies! He was such a cool little guy (he let me try out my new hammock...looks comfy, eh?) and his parents are so much fun..welcome to the world, little one! I think you're going to like it here!

Miracle Baby {Towson Baby Photo Session}

He should have been a nightmare to photograph, this little guy. He's right at that two-month mark where babies are notoriously hard to photograph (they flail, they complain!) and, to add to that, this poor little one suffers from reflux, which means mostly, he cries, and cries, and cries. Or at least that is what his mom said. I'm not sure she was talking about the same baby, though, because THIS little guy was just a little angel! He slept and let me do so many different poses. Maybe he just REALLY liked being in the spotlight?!?! Totally a miracle!
